Kick the Fat Out – Taebo and Weight Loss

Exercise is, without a doubt, a great way to lose weight. Finding the right exercise routine that you can stick to is very helpful to meeting your weight loss goals. If an exercise routine is not enjoyable at least at some level for you, chances are it will be hard to keep up over an extended period of time.

One of the more popular exercises today is Tae Bo. Tae Bo is a combination of Tae Kwon Do, Boxing, and Dancing. It was invented by Billy Blanks, a seven-time World Martial Arts Champion. The strong suit of Tae Bo is that it’s actually quite enjoyable to do. Since it integrates modern, upbeat music with self-defense moves, it makes the steps easier to follow.

Tae Bo was discovered by Billy Blanks quite accidentally while he was working out in his basement. He was able to combine classic martial arts and boxing movements and then added some basic dance routines. Initially he taught Tae Bo out of his basement, and then he moved to Los Angeles in a small studio. A short time after, Billy Blanks began to produce Tae Bo workout videos which he distributed commercially. This became a phenomenal success, as Tae Bo is now available to people in other locations and can be done in the comfort of your own living room. There are no special equipments when doing Tae Bo, except for little dumbbells to hold and some small weights to put on your legs. You may also use water bottles or better yet, boxing gloves, to put some weight on the arms. If you don’t have the money for expensive exercise equipment but want a full body work out, Tae Bo might just be the right exercise for you.

Tae Bo workouts are a combination of cardiovascular and strength training. Compared with the traditional aerobics exercises, it’s also more physical. Integrating the self-awareness and focus needed for martial arts, the force and strength or boxing, and the graceful movements of dance, Tae Bo is a very effective way to lose weight while enjoying it. Integration of the dance component is quite important because the coordination of the rigorous physical training of tae kwon do and boxing movements is coordinated in a pace that gives the heart a healthy workout.

Repetitive martial arts movement also makes responding defensively almost second nature. Of course, nobody wants to get into the position where you have to actually use defensive moves, but it’s always good to know these things in case you’ll need to use them.

A good weight loss program involves eating right, staying active, and picking what you eat. If you overeat and then try to assuage the guilt by doing a little Tae Bo, it’s not going to help you lose weight. The amount of calories you burn must be more than the amount that you consume. It’s also important that you eat the right kind of food to make sure that your body has enough calories to burn.

To supplement your weight loss goals, it’s also good to try all-natural weight loss pills like Proactol.
